Title Race:Brendan Rodgers frustrated as Chelsea 'park two buses' in win at Anfield

Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers suggested that Chelsea had 'parked two buses' after seeing his side go down 2-0 to their title rivals at Anfield.

Demba Ba opened the scoring just before the break after Liverpool skipper Steven Gerrard had slipped, allowing the striker to latch onto the ball before nutmegging the advancing Simon Mignolet.

Willian then made sure of the win after a pass from fellow substitute Fernando Torres for a breakaway goal in injury time, with the result seeing Liverpool's lead at the top cut to just two points.

The father of the victim, Patrick, told PUNCH Metro that on the fateful day he had been looking everywhere for his daughter until they discovered her under Gbuchenge’s bed.
Patrick said, “Last Thursday, I returned from work around 7.30pm and met my children and wife outside. There was power failure on that day so everywhere was dark. I asked after Amarachi but my wife said she was probably in our apartment sleeping.
“I was not satisfied with this explanation because my children don’t usually sleep early. When I went up, I did not see my daughter so we started asking around. Some little children in the compound then told me that Gbuchenge had called my daughter earlier to help him buy akara.

Manchester United players told Ferguson to sack Moyes

Manchester United players told Ferguson to sack Moyes

David Moyes' future at Manchester United was sealed after a number of senior players turned to Sir Alex Ferguson to demand change, reports the Daily Mail.

The former Everton boss was relieved of his job on Tuesday morning following a dismal 11 months in charge at Old Trafford.

He had been given a six-year contract by Manchester United following Ferguson's recommendation, but officials took the decision to sack him following United's 11th league defeat of the season on Sunday.

By the time Moyes was sacked, almost every significant figure at Manchester United was fed up with him including senior players, directors and major shareholders.

Apparently players were so disgruntled by Moyes' regime that some senior figures turned up at the doorstep of Ferguson' Carrington home to demand change.

Clash of styles

Pep Guardiola: Questions are being asked of the Bayern Munich manager

Real Madrid versus Bayern Munich. Possession against counter-attack. It was a classic match-up offering an intriguing contrast in styles. Such affairs can sometimes be one way, such as when Jose Mourinho's Chelsea team not only parked the bus but stubbornly refused to get off it throughout the previous evening's game in the Spanish capital. But there was more than enough purpose and ambition to Real Madrid's breaks in the Bernabeu to ensure excitement.

FIFA has cleared the Spanish club to sign players from July 1, with their case unlikely to be resolved before the transfer window opens for the summer.

The club was found to have broken the rules in the case of 10 under-18 players with a 14-month transfer ban and a fine of £305,000 as punishment.

Pep Guardiola: Bayern coach trying to plot Real's downfall again

Real Madrid and Bayern Munich meet at the Santiago Bernabeu in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League semi-finals in what promises to be a pulsating tie.

Real, meanwhile, are trying to become the first club to be crowned European champions 10 times and are seeking a first final appearance since beating Bayer Leverkusen in Glasgow 12 years ago.
Carlo Ancelotti's side have already overcome Bundesliga opposition twice in the knock-out stages of the Champions League this season after following up a convincing 9-2 aggregate win over Schalke in the last 16 by hanging on to defeat Borussia Dortmund 3-2 in the quarter-finals.

Mrs Ogbiyele: was beaten in court by her husband
An Ikeja Magistrate’s court was turned into a battleground when a man, Olufemi Ogbiyele engaged his wife, Bola Ogbiyele, in a fight. The incident, which generated a lot of attention inside the court premises, was alleged to have begun when a friend of the divorce-seeking couple pleaded with the husband, to settle out of court but the plea fell on deaf ears.
Instead, Ogbiyele was said to have grabbed the wife’s handbag, while demanding custody of their three children, and beat up his wife to the chagrin of court attendants.
Counsel to the estranged wife, Barrister Shittu Oladeyinde, who spoke with P.M.NEWS said, “I am also the embattled woman’s friend and was aware that a friend called them to settle out of court. Unfortunately, this fell on deaf ears and the man flared up, demanded custody of his children.
Oladeyinde then explained the genesis of their problem. “It actually started on 11 February last year when the woman locked herself up in the children’s room after he beat her up. She then left for her mother’s house afterwards to avoid being lynched.”

Amid the Atrocities In Central African Republic

Armed groups of vigilantes called anti-balaka, comprised of Christians, animists and former troops loyal to the toppled government, have spent months trying to rid Central African Republic of most of its Muslims. Many claim they’re exacting revenge against Séléka, the disbanded coalition of mainly Muslim rebels who staged a coup more than a year ago and initiated horrific abuses like rape, torture and random killings, largely against non-Muslims. But their retaliatory atrocities have amounted to reports of ethnic cleansing and warnings of religion-fueled murder, destabilizing the land to the darkest period in its modern history.

10 Reason Why Moyes Was Sacked

INDECISION IN THE TRANSFER MARKET
As Premier League champions, Manchester United remained an attractive proposition to the most talented players across Europe even without the aura and authority of Sir Alex Ferguson.
Yet United's pursuit of their summer transfer shortlist was a complete failure.
Too much time was spent trying to entice the likes of Barcelona's Cesc Fabregas and Thiago Alcantara, Everton's Leighton Baines and Athletic Bilbao's Ander Herrera to Old Trafford. There was even talk of a mega money return for Cristiano Ronaldo.
Grand plans: Moyes was full of optimism when he started at United on July 1 but soon found himself up against it in the transfer market

Champions League Preview: Atletico Madrid Vs Chelsea in first leg of semi-final

Chelsea's pursuit of European glory continues on Tuesday night as they head to Spain for the first leg of their UEFA Champions League semi-final against Atletico Madrid.

Jose Mourinho's side narrowly avoided elimination in the last eight as they battled back from a 3-1 first-leg deficit to knock out Paris St Germain on away goals thanks to Demba Ba's late strike at Stamford Bridge a fortnight ago.

The semi-final draw then kept Chelsea away from heavyweights Bayern Munich and Real Madrid, but it will still take a monumental effort to reach next month's showpiece in Lisbon after being pitted against an Atletico side on the brink of winning the Primera Liga.

Chelsea had also hoped to claim domestic and European glory to mark Mourinho's first season back at the helm in style, but their bid to become Premier League champions suffered a seemingly terminal blow at the weekend as they went down 2-1 at home to Sunderland.

Chelsea captain John Terry will hopefully agree terms on a new contract in the next two weeks, according to the club's assistant coach Steve Holland.
Terry has excelled this season for title-chasing Chelsea, making 32 league appearances in the centre of a defence that is the tightest in the division with 24 goals conceded in 34 games.

The 33-year-old has reportedly been offered a new deal by the West London club but on half his current wage.

Ebola: What you need to know

There are at least five different strains of Ebola, and in past outbreaks, this virus -- the Zaire strain -- has killed as many as nine out of 10 people it infects. Men and women, young and old. Ebola does not discriminate.

I geared up with Tim Jagatic, a physician from Ontario. He wants to give me an idea of what it is like to walk in his boots. He is with Doctors Without Borders, and he has been here for three weeks, almost since the beginning of the outbreak. This trip is his first time seeing Ebola.
